Care Inspectorate Wales Award
We have won the Care Inspectorate Wales award: Best practice worth sharing growing and learning through gardening!
We have been awarded this because our team is passionate about creating opportunities for our children to explore the outdoors.
It is lovely to watch the children caring for the garden, watering it and the enjoyment they get harvesting the food and taking it to the kitchen to be prepared and cooked for their tea!
About us
A Welsh-medium day nursery for children aged 2-8 in the Vale of Glamorgan.
At Cylch Meithrin Y Bont-Faen, we provide a nurturing and engaging environment where children can learn and grow. As a Welsh-medium nursery, children are immersed in the Welsh language during their most formative years- supporting natural language development and cultural identity.
With just 30 places, we offer a close-knit, homely atmosphere where each child and their family are truly known and valued. Based in the beautiful market town of Cowbridge, we are proud to be a part of the local community and to provide a space where children feel secure and free to explore.
Our passionate team of qualified early years practitioners support each child's unique development through play-based learning, enriching activities and warm, responsive care.

Our Approach
At Cylch Meithrin Y Bont-Faen, we are aware that every child is full of potential, and we are here to help that potential shine!
We believe in
Welsh-medium education - we immerse children in the Welsh language from the very beginning. Through daily routines, songs, stories and conversations, children naturally acquire the Welsh language in a fun and stimulating way.
Whether children come from a Welsh-speaking home, or are completely new to the language, we ensure that all children feel supported, understood and confident in their learning journey.
Child-centred, play-based learning - play is key in supporting children's exploration, understanding and growth. All activities aim to support and satisfy the children's individual interests and abilities. Through open-ended, hands-on experience in both indoor and outdoor environments, children develop communication skills, confidence, and an appreciation of the world around them.
Community and culture - we honor Welsh traditions and celebrate our place in the Cowbridge community.
Close relationships - we work closely with families to create strong and trusting partnerships, ensuring consistency between home and nursery. We ensure all children feel known, supported and celebrated.
